Graphic Design Utility readme file
The GDU is a program I put together that was supposed to have the elements
I wanted in a game designers program. It is at least part way there.
This readme file contains very little information. The program is incomplete,
but if there is enough interest I'll probably fill in the gaps and
produce something a little more solid. A number of the menu functions do
not operate, so ignore them (unless you want them, in which case you'll have
to tell me).
Basically, the program allows you to create sprites (and test animation
sequences) and game boards (and make the boards up).
Take a look at the code to see what the file formats are; things are pretty
simple.
Clicking on 'mode' enters the game board design; this only works on size 16
sprites. Use the arrow keys to scroll the screen. Click the right mouse
button for the menu.
Clicking on 'test' enters the sprite animation tester. You can click on a
series of sprites and the program will cycle them. Click more than once on a
particular frame to delay the amount of time it is on the screen.
'Expt' lets you print the sprites.
Usually when a menu is given at the bottom of the screen, the rightmost
selection will be used if you click off the menu.
P.S. This just goes to show you what you can whang together in a weekend
with GFA. Great language!
